How to Clean a Coil-Top Stove
Many people that cook from home on a consistent basis are faced with a common issue; their stove-tops are in desperate need of some TLC. When a pot of water or another liquid boils over, the liquid becomes burnt onto the coils almost instantly. This will lead to the burners becoming dirty and gunky over time. Here at Happys Appliances Outlet, we want your stove to maintain its cleanliness, efficiency and beauty, which is why we have put together a list of steps to help you keep your stove burners clean!
Remove Coils
The first step is to make sure your stove is turned off and that the burners are completely cool. After you’ve confirmed that, pull the burners out from the connectors and set them aside. This will allow you to clean up all of the spillage hidden underneath the burners.
Scrub the Coils
The next thing to do is create a mixture of dish soap (not too much!) and warm water. Dip a washcloth into the soap water and wipe down the the coils with soap. After you’ve done this, make a baking soda paste by applying a few drops of water. Spread this paste onto any burnt-on food or liquid and let it sit there for 10-15 minutes.
Clean Drip Pans
While you’re letting the baking soda paste dissolve the gunk off your burners, remove the drip pans from the stove. Wipe away any food or liquid that was trapped underneath the drip pan. Wash the drip pans, dry them and put them back on the stove.
Finish Up
Lastly, wipe the baking soda paste and any remaining residue from the coil burners. After you’ve done that, let the burners air dry. When they’re completely dried, re-connect the burners to the stove, and boom! You have a beautiful and clean stove!
